KUALA LUMPUR: If you want to be part of something big come New Year's eve, head to Penang to join in an attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest street dance class.

Organiser CreatiVision D.C. Sdn Bhd hopes to draw more than 20,000 people to beat the current record of 7,700 people at a street dance class in Cebu, the Philippines.

Managing director Adelyn Lim said the youth-oriented programme was being organised in the spirit of 1Malaysia and to help young people loosen up a bit and come out of their shell.

"Malaysians are often shy and unwilling to express themselves in public. But young people pay a lot of money to dance in clubs, often putting themselves in the way of temptation," Lim told a news conference yesterday.

"I want Malaysians to enjoy the benefits of dancing, which include unity and a good workout, without having to pay through the nose at an expensive club."

She said it would also give Muslims a chance to participate because clubs were taboo to them, and it would help tackle the growing rate of obesity among Malaysian youth.

CreatiVision hopes to roll out such programmes nationwide soon, she said, and also introduce the Flash Mob -- the latest global fad where people gather at short notice to briefly dance in the street and then go on their way.

She hopes that such community dance routines will become regular weekend activities like the Senamrobik and Para Para Sakura in Hong Kong.

（吉隆坡5日讯）“槟城金碧辉煌2010”跨年演唱会暨第53届乔治市庆典，将于2009年12月31日晚上10时，在旧关仔角大草场隆重引爆！

这项活动由生命的彩虹之青年社会责任计划组主办，主要目的是为了协助宣扬联合国儿童基金会“为儿童而团结”的宣言。值得一提，此活动亦是配合槟城官方指定活动，且倒数当日所有经费都由CreatiVision D.C.有限公司赞助。

生命的彩虹之青年社会责任计划组发起人林丽沄表示，今年的跨年活动之一将以世界最大型舞蹈盛会为目标，创下3万人或以上“万民共舞”的世界纪录。

她透露，菲律宾早在今年6月27日创下健力士世界纪录舞蹈表演，参加人数为7770名。



鼓励青少年运动

她指出，该项大型舞蹈盛会主要有两个目的，其一是让近年来多数青少年沉迷在电脑网络而缺乏运动，因此借舞蹈活动推动正当的娱乐健康运动。

“根据我国卫生部报告，全马很多青少年患有精神病例，因此希望借此机会鼓励他们到户外活动。”

她也说，该活动将把槟城定为首站，并且将逐渐推动至全马各州，希望可以唤起全马各地的青少年参与这项健康文娱活动。

她续说，该项世界最大型舞蹈盛会将命名为“跳吧！跳吧！跳出小朋友的未来”。

林丽沄在“跳吧！跳吧！跳出小朋友的未来”万民共舞盛会推介礼时，如是表示。与会者有联合国儿童基金会驻大马及汶莱代表尤索夫奥马。

林丽沄表示，万民共舞的歌曲将选用金斯顿（Sean Kingston）主唱的Fire Burning On The Dance Floor，舞蹈时间长达5分钟。

“该舞步很荣幸获得马来西亚Super Junior之家给予的配合及协助，而他们也将录制影片让大家透过网络学习舞步。”

她续说，舞蹈演示可透过Facebook。

她强调，所有参与者都必须出席本月30日，傍晚5时至晚上7时的最后一次彩排。而在31日当天，参与者需在傍晚7时至晚上9时30分登记。

The work shop very interesting...

and can meet a mixedAustralian guy...
